I was selected to be on student-staff for a non profit organization called Younglife. This past February I organized 32 college students to travel from Chico, California to Williams, Arizona at one of Younglife's camp locations for a college weekend put on by YL South West Region. I was fully in charge of our club area that whole weekend because our head leader of the campus club, Kevin Reid, could not attend that weekend. So he put me in charge!
The weekend ran very smoothly and I thought of all the possibilities that could go wrong and made sure I had a plan of action for them. The staff members who organized the retreat were very shocked that we brought 32 college students to Arizona for a weekend retreat. This is one of the proudest retreats I have helped plan!
In the spring of 2021 my class and I planned a virtual event called the New Wave Pros Online Seminar. We planned and marketed the event for three months before the actual event. The event was a huge hit and we had over 100 students show up to learn skills from all kinds of professionals we had lined up from different work fields. These webinars ranged from public speaking to how to build a resume to early career development. The feedback we received from the attendees was phenomenal and the students said they learned valuable skills from professionals in the work force.
